Mt. Baldy

It's been far too long since I've posted anything up here. My last year was a bust for getting out and exploring. I messed up my shoulder around Easter, and I've had some problems with my leg, so I've been going to physical therapy for the past 6 months. But, I'm feeling much better and stronger. Here are some pics of Mt. Baldy after a good rain in LA. The views were amazing, if only all hikes in LA were this beautiful.

The best thing about the rain in LA is that it washes all the crap out of the air. The views were amazingly crisp, no haze or smog to get in the way. And everything looks a bit greener.

I love hiking through the clouds. There are so many effects the sun plays with the woods around you. And there is always the benefit once you get out of the clouds.

The cloud deck was at about 9500 feet and Baldy is at ~10000 feet. Once I popped up out of the clouds, the view was simply gorgeous. I would suggest only hiking after a good rain. On any other day you would have seen most of L.A. I will definitely do this again soon. Hopefully my next post will be some pics from Catalina Island.
